Nobel Biocare manufactures and distributes dental implants. Their dental forum and training facility provides onsite dental surgery for clients all across Canada.
System Requirements
They needed a system that allows their doctor to interact from the surgical suite with the training forum. It was important that they had the ability to view three slide projectors on one screen and control each one independently. There needed to be an Intera-oral camera in the surgical suite which the doctor could move around easily and which both the doctor and the forum could view easily. Other details included: Ease of control from podium location for all video/audio sources, a computer video in the surgical suite routed to the forum projector, LCD projection for camera and video sources, audio and video/computer inputs from podium location. Additionally, the video in the forum had to be routed to the surgical suite for the doctor to follow.
Challenge
Our challenge at DTS was to create an esthetically pleasing training room overlooking a dental surgical suite. A number of different sources such as an intra-oral camera, digital x-ray, and a computer presentation and motion video had to be easily displayed to those in the training room. We had to create a system with the ability for audio/video conferencing over IP for offsite training.
